2 girls die by suicide after molestation, rape by four schoolmates in Pratapgarh

Two minor girls in India committed suicide after being allegedly molested and raped by their schoolmates. The girls, aged 16 and 17, were cousins and studied at a government school in Pratapgarh district. The father of the elder girl had lodged an FIR against three of the four schoolmates, accusing them of molestation and intimidation. The girls consumed poison at their home. The accused have been detained and booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem. BJP state president blamed the police for inaction in the case.
