4 ways US proposes to change H-1B visa programme
The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has proposed changes to the H-1B visa program to streamline eligibility requirements, improve efficiency, and provide greater benefits. The proposed rule aims to clarify specialty occupation positions, defer to previous determinations, expand exemptions for certain organizations, extend flexibilities for students, establish eligibility requirements for entrepreneurs, and strengthen integrity measures. Additionally, the proposed changes would modify the H-1B registration selection process to reduce misuse and fraud by only allowing one registration per individual, improving the chances for legitimate registrations to be selected.
