6 militants arrested in Manipur for extortion

Six militants from Kangleipak Communist Party and PREPAK (PRO) were arrested in Manipur’s Thoubal and Bishnupur districts for alleged abductions and extortion. Two hand grenades and demand letters were seized. Villagers opposed the extortion attempts during ethnic clashes. The arrests highlight the severity of the extortion activities and the presence of explosives.
