Abhinava Halashree Swamy, a pontiff of a mutt from North Karnataka, has been arrested by the Bengaluru police after a week-long chase. Swamy, accused in a cash-for-poll-ticket case, was found hiding on a moving train in Odisha. The police search for him had spanned multiple cities in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Karnataka. Swamy had booked a train ticket to Bodhgaya from Bhubaneswar but had sensed that the police were on his trail and had moved to Cuttack to board the train. He is expected to be flown to Bengaluru on Tuesday night.
