Death to cost $20 as Switzerland plans first ‘suicide pod’

A 3D-printed portable suicide pod called the Sarco will soon be used in Switzerland by an assisted dying organization. The Sarco, introduced in 2019 amidst controversy, allows a person to end their life without medical supervision by filling the pod’s chamber with nitrogen. Once a button inside the pod is pressed, oxygen levels rapidly decrease, causing the individual to lose consciousness and pass away within about 10 minutes. This futuristic capsule’s unique method involves nitrogen, which quickly reduces oxygen levels.
