‘Upset over not getting to play’ cricketer jumps to death

S Samuel Raj, a 23-year-old cricketer from Chennai, jumped to his death from Kathipara flyover, reportedly upset over not being selected for the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). He was declared dead upon arrival at Chromepet Government Hospital. Police investigations revealed his friends suspected disappointment over TNPL selection was the cause. No suicide note or last-minute messages were discovered. His body was handed over to his father postmortem.
