Government ends tenure of BSF DG, his deputy amid J&K attacks

In an unexpected decision, the Indian government terminated the tenures of BSF director general Nitin Agrawal and special DG Y B Khurania, repatriating them to their state cadres. Agrawal, from the 1989 Kerala cadre, and Khurania, from the 1990 Odisha cadre, were ordered to leave immediately amidst a surge in border infiltration incidents.
