Once a source of life, Chaliyar River now graveyard of Wayanad

The Chaliyar River in Kerala, a vital water source for three districts, witnessed tragic landslides in Wayanad on July 30. This natural disaster caused significant loss of life, with 73 bodies and 132 body parts recovered. Rescue operations by multiple agencies, including the Navy and NDRF, are ongoing, raising the death toll to 219.
