4 amoebic brain infection cases reported in Thiruvananthapuram, one dead

Four cases of amoebic meningoencephalitis, including one death, were reported in Thiruvananthapuram. Those infected had bathed in Kavinkulam pond, now off-limits as per health department directives. Samples confirmed the presence of the infection, and public alerts were issued. The deceased, Akhil, had sought treatment for fever, raising awareness on avoiding contaminated water sources.
