Bengal govt picks DCP probing govenror for August 15 honour

Kolkata Police DCP Indira Mukherjee was awarded a police medal by CM Mamata Banerjee, alongside three other IPS officers. Mukherjee leads the SIT investigating sexual abuse allegations against Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose. The governor had previously criticized the probe, claiming it was politically engineered. The Calcutta High Court has paused the investigation pending further appeals.
