Student ‘loses vision after slap’, principal, teacher named in FIR

Police in Meerut registered an FIR against the principal and yoga instructor of a government-run Army Public School after a Class 7 student, who had a retinal problem, went blind following an alleged slap from the yoga instructor. The mother claimed the principal was aware but took no action. The instructor was terminated from service.
