#RGKarOutrage: India sees unprecedented civil gathering spearheaded by Kolkata women

In the wake of the horrific rape and murder of an R G Kar doctor, Kolkata witnessed one of the largest civil movements led by women in recent memory. Thousands took to the streets on August 15, demanding harsh punishment for the perpetrators and a safer environment for women, chanting the national anthem and Vande Mataram at midnight.
