Tamil Nadu to identify free power connections, plug misuse

Officials in Tamil Nadu surveyed unused or misused agricultural service connections as part of efforts to prevent misuse of free electricity subsidies. A report on the findings from 10 districts, including Erode and Coimbatore, will be submitted by August 24. The initiative aims to ensure subsidies go to legitimate agricultural uses and to reduce the burden on state funds.
