Account mismatch: Ladki Bahin money lands in man’s bank account

The launch of Maharashtra’s ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin’ scheme, aimed at financially empowering women, experienced an error when funds were inadvertently transferred to a man’s account. Jaffar Sheikh from Yavatmal received ₹3,000 despite not applying. The government had disbursed stipends to 96.3 lakh women before the official scheme launch to avoid last-minute glitches.
