Elephanta Caves, World Heritage site, adopted by private firm

A private firm adopted the Elephanta Caves under the Archaeological Survey of India’s ‘Adopt a Heritage’ scheme. It was the first monument in the state to be adopted under this initiative. The firm will enhance and maintain public amenities at the site, using CSR funds. Revenue from allowable amenities like light and sound shows will fund maintenance.
