Engineering triumph: Stoplog installed at Tungabhadra dam, securing water for farmers

A team of experts, led by retired engineer Kannaiah Naidu, successfully installed a stoplog at the Tungabhadra dam, averting wastage of water and aiding drought-stricken farmers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. The action followed the sudden washout of crest gate-19, impacting the dam’s Full Reservoir Level of 105 tmc, needed for crop seasons.
