Harry Brook named vice-captain; Matthew Potts makes England playing eleven for first Test against Sri Lanka

The England and Wales Cricket Board announced that Dan Lawrence will replace the injured Zak Crawley as England’s opening batsman for the first Test against Sri Lanka. Matthew Potts will also step in for Ben Stokes, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury for the rest of the season. Ollie Pope has been appointed captain, with Harry Brook as vice-captain. The series, starting at Old Trafford, offers a chance for Lawrence and Potts to prove themselves on the international stage.
