IOC fillip for ESports, inks deal with NOC, Saudi Arabia

The International Olympic Committee and Saudi Arabia’s National Olympic Committee hosted the first Olympic ESports Games to promote esports globally. Abhishek Issar of UNIV Sportatech noted this as a pivotal moment for the industry. The number of esports players in India grew from 150,000 in 2021 to 600,000 in 2022, with projections reaching 1.5 million by 2027.
