India, Malaysia elevate ties to ‘strategic partnership’

India and Malaysia elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership during PM Modi’s talks with PM Anwar Ibrahim. They discussed countering extremism, the South China Sea situation, and signed nine MoUs, including one for the welfare of Indian workers in Malaysia. They also condemned terrorism and endorsed each other’s roles in Asean and international cooperation.
