Former Congress MLA gets 47 months in jail for flouting Covid norms during 2022 poll drive

Former Congress MLA Bansi Singh Pahadiya was given a three-year and 11-month prison sentence by an MP/MLA court in Bulandshahr. He was found guilty of violating the model code of conduct and Covid-19 rules during the 2022 assembly election campaign. Pahadiya, who ran as an SP-RLD alliance candidate, was also fined Rs 50,000.
