Maharashtra farmers protest in river for 30 hours in Jalgaon

Farmers in Jalgaon, led by former MP Unmesh Patil of Shiv Sena (UBT), stood in the Girna river for 30 hours demanding immediate action on the Nar Par Girna water diversion scheme. The protest was called off after authorities assured a meeting within a fortnight to discuss the project aimed at addressing the region’s irrigation deficit.
