ACB gets Centre’s nod to try ex-IAS officer in  Rs 100 crore transport ‘scam’

The DoPT sanctioned prosecution of retired IAS officer RK Verma for allegedly granting financial benefits to a company managing a vehicle inspection unit in Delhi in 2007-08. Verma, then transport secretary-cum-commissioner, is accused of bypassing recommendations and entering illicit agreements, leading to a Rs 100-crore scam. Evidence supports prosecution under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
