Bengaluru suburban rail: K-Ride to purchase coaches as none ready to lease

K-Ride decided to buy 306 air-conditioned coaches for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project after no financial bids were received for leasing. K-Ride will seek Rs 4,270 crore from the state and Central governments for this. Despite extending deadlines, no bids were received due to the lack of a sovereign guarantee. K-Ride is considering Vande Bharat Metro coaches from ICF Chennai.
