Modi govt working on policy to increase lifespan of national highways

A new policy is in works to extend the lifespan of national highways. ‘White-topping’, involving a concrete overlay on bituminous pavement, could prolong the life of roads by up to 25 years while reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
