The Women In Cinema Collective (WCC) met Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan to address issues arising from the Hema Committee report. They highlighted the need to protect women’s privacy, improve the Internal Committee under the POSH Act, and create more opportunities for women in cinema. The Chief Minister assured that their concerns would be sympathetically considered. “We have called for an increase in the Film Fund for Directors and the need for a revised roadmap for the utilization of this fund, taking into account the experiences of women who have made films using the fund earlier, with a definite pro-women approach, led by women,” they said.
