Chhattisgarh officer honoured with Eco Warrior Award for innovative AI-based elephant alert app

Varun Jain, Deputy Director of Udanti-Sitanadi Tiger Reserve in Chhattisgarh, received the Eco Warrior Award 2024 for his Elephant Alert App. This AI-based app has drastically reduced human-elephant conflicts by notifying villagers about elephant movements through automated calls, SMS, and WhatsApp. The app’s success has led to its adoption in 15 other forest divisions.
