Two women dead, three injured in Madurai hostel fire

Two women teachers died and three others were injured in a fire at a women’s hostel in Madurai, triggered by a compressor explosion in an old refrigerator. The incident has raised concerns about structurally weak buildings and unregistered hostels in the city. Fire personnel rescued 30 women from the blaze.
