‘Great People’s Forest’ – Reforestation drive to plant 1 billion trees in Eastern Himalayas

An ambitious reforestation and conservation initiative called the ‘Great People’s Forest’ has been launched in the Eastern Himalayas. The initiative, in partnership with Balipara Foundation and Conservation International, aims to plant over 1 billion trees and restore 1 million hectares of land by 2030. The project spans across India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Nepal and seeks to protect the biodiversity-rich region.
