Secularism European, not Bharatiya concept: Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi

Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi asserted that secularism is a European concept, not initially part of India’s Constitution. He alleged it was introduced during the Emergency by an ‘insecure Prime Minister’ to placate some sections of society. Congress denounced his comments as outrageous and unacceptable.
