Katy Perry sells rights to five albums including ‘Teenage Dream’ for a whopping $225 MILLION

Katy Perry has sold the rights to five of her studio albums, including “Teenage Dream,” to Litmus Music, a company backed by Carlyle. The deal was reported to be valued at $225 million. The albums were released under Perry’s contract with Capitol Records, and Litmus Music now gains access to an artist who has achieved significant fame and success with numerous Grammy nominations and MTV Video Music Awards. Other investment firms have also been acquiring music catalogs from artists in recent years.
