Air Canada fined for breaching restricted Iraqi airspace

The US Department of Transportation fined Air Canada $250,000 for flying through restricted Iraqi airspace between October 2022 and January 2023. The violations happened under a codeshare agreement with United Airlines. Air Canada stopped codesharing on the Dubai to Toronto route as of January 13, 2023, after being notified of the breach.
