Russia using genocide ‘lie’ as pretext to destroy, Ukraine tells World Court

Ukraine has told the International Court of Justice that Russia used a false allegation of genocide as a pretext to invade Ukraine. Ukraine argues that Russia’s claims of a genocide in eastern Ukraine were baseless and that the Genocide Convention does not allow for an invasion to stop an alleged genocide.
