81-year-old South Korean narrowly misses out on becoming oldest Miss Universe

Choi Soon-hwa, 81, a South Korean model, participated in the Miss Universe Korea pageant aiming to become its oldest contestant. Though she didn’t win, she earned the ‘Best Dresser’ award. Choi began modeling in her 70s and joined the pageant after the age limit was lifted. Han Ariel, 22, won the pageant and will represent South Korea in Mexico.
