A suspected Pakistani hacker group known as Transparent Tribe is using malicious Android apps disguised as YouTube to spread the CapraRAT mobile remote access trojan. CapraRAT is a highly invasive tool that allows the attacker to control data on infected Android devices. The group targets military and diplomatic personnel in India and Pakistan, as well as individuals involved in Kashmir affairs and human rights activism. The apps are spread outside of the Google Play Store, using self-run websites and social engineering techniques. The apps have the ability to record audio and video, collect messages and call logs, initiate calls, and modify files.
