Hurricane Helene wreaks havoc on historic Biltmore Estate in North Carolina

Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to Asheville’s Biltmore Estate. While the main buildings remained largely intact, low-lying areas and forested portions suffered substantial flooding, wind damage, and the loss of some animals. Initial assessments estimate the estate will be closed until at least October 15. Buncombe County faces extensive power outages and infrastructure damage.
