A Moscow court declines to hear an appeal by jailed US journalist Evan Gershkovich

Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich’s appeal in a Moscow court seeking release from jail on espionage charges wa denied. The court sent the case back to a lower court due to procedural violations. Gershkovich will remain jailed until November 30, unless his appeal is heard earlier. He was detained in March while on a reporting trip to Yekaterinburg.
