Bengaluru police deploys AI-based traffic control system: Here’s how it works

To alleviate Bengaluru’s traffic woes, the Bengaluru Traffic Police introduced the Bengaluru Adaptive Traffic Control System (BATCS) to optimize traffic flow and reduce delays. Beginning in May 2024, the first phase upgrades 165 signals, with 60 junctions already improved. Using AI, BATCS dynamically adjusts signal timings based on real-time traffic, aiming for smoother movement and emergency response capabilities.
