Tamil Nadu Congress President K Selvaperunthagai has urged party workers to set up control rooms to assist residents during heavy rains. With the India Meteorological Department issuing red and orange alerts, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin declared holidays for schools in several districts. Private IT firms are advised to allow employees to work from home until October 18.
