Govt to roll out social security for gig workers soon

India’s labour ministry is set to introduce a social security framework for gig workers, encompassing health insurance and pension benefits. This initiative will benefit those associated with ride-hailing and delivery platforms. Labour minister Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the need for immediate policy before the full enactment of the labour code, considering the growing workforce in this sector.
