Rs 1,000 bribe lands Tamil Nadu govt servant, 61, in jail for 1 year

A state government employee, P Sakkarai, was convicted of bribery and sentenced to one year in prison, 15 years after being caught accepting a 1,000 bribe from loan applicant E John. Trapped by the DVAC in 2009, Sakkarai was fined 1,000 on top of the jail term.
