ESA’s Gaia Space Telescope discovers first ever triple black hole system, stunning scientists

Astronomers have discovered a third star in the V404 Cygni system, now a rare triple black hole system 8,000 light-years away. This finding challenges existing black hole formation theories, suggesting a possible non-violent formation. The system features a black hole consuming a star every 6.5 days, while a distant star orbits every 70,000 years.
