Heavy rains lash Kerala; IMD sounds orange alert in five districts

Heavy rains disrupted life in Kerala, causing water logging and traffic jams. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur districts, along with a yellow alert for seven other districts. Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and gusty winds were predicted in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha districts.
