Bihar’s folk icon Sharda Sinha admitted to AIIMS for critical health issues

Renowned folk singer Sharda Sinha, 72, has been admitted to the ICU at AIIMS, Delhi, following complications from multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer she’s battled since 2017. The Padma Bhushan awardee’s health declined further after the recent passing of her husband, Brij Kishore Sinha. Known for her Bhojpuri and Maithili songs, Sinha’s music celebrates Bihar’s cultural heritage, making her a beloved figure in Indian folk music.
