Germany recalls ambassador from Iran as it protests the execution of an Iranian German prisoner

Germany has protested against Iran over the execution of Iranian German prisoner, Jamshid Sharmahd, who was kidnapped in Dubai in 2020. The German ambassador was recalled, and Berlin reserves the right to take further measures. Sharmahd was accused of planning a 2008 mosque attack and disclosing classified information.
