China company wins deal to print new Nepal notes with map including Indian areas

Nepal Rastra Bank awarded a contract to a Chinese company to print new 100-rupee notes featuring Nepal’s revised political map, including territories disputed with India. The Chinese firm will print and supply 300 million notes at a cost of $8.99 million. The updated map has strained India-Nepal relations since 2020.
