A security supervisor, Sayan Kundu, and his elderly father were repeatedly assaulted in Kolkata after requesting revelers to stop bursting loud crackers outside their home. Kundu’s pleas were prompted by his ailing mother’s deteriorating health due to the noise. Despite initial reluctance, police arrested two individuals following the brutal attacks.
