SC proposes planting 2x trees felled in Ridge, order to be passed today

The Supreme Court proposed that the Delhi Development Authority, responsible for illegally cutting down 1,670 trees, plant double that number in the southern ridge and a hundred times that across Delhi as compensation. The court also sought a mechanism to prevent future illegal tree felling in the city’s vital green areas.
