September Equinox 2023: Date, Time and Significance

The Fall Equinox, also known as the September Equinox, is when the sun is directly above the Earth’s equator. It will occur on September 23, 2023. During this time, both hemispheres receive equal sunlight. As the days get shorter, cooler weather and a shift in the sun’s arc across the sky towards the south will be observed. The equinox is called so because all regions on Earth receive the same number of hours of sunlight.
