Record number of Australians enroll to vote in referendum on Indigenous voice to parliament

A record number of Australians have enrolled to vote in a referendum for the creation of an Indigenous advocacy body. The referendum, set to be held on October 14th, aims to enshrine in Australia’s constitution an Indigenous voice to Parliament. When enrollments closed, 97.7% of eligible Australians had signed up to vote, the largest proportion in the country’s history.
