UP: Varanasi GRP detains man with Rs. 47 lakh in unaccounted cash at Cantt station

Government Railway Police (GRP) officers apprehended a young man at Varanasi Cantt railway station, discovering Rs 47 lakhs in Rs 500 denominations within his possession. The individual, identified as Shiv Kumar alias Pankaj Verma, claimed he was en route to Howrah to procure dry fruits but lacked supporting documentation. Authorities have detained him and alerted the income tax department for further investigation.
